Do you have the interior design blues? Designing a bathroom can be an overwhelming process. It’s easy to play it safe with neutrals. However, do not be afraid to add a pop of color. Tatiana von Slomski, owner of Billie Bloom, decided to transform her bathroom by using blue cabinets. Blue cabinetry is a great technique to brighten up a room and add some character. Neutral colors have become our safety net in interior design. We are surrounded by shades of gray and white marble. Try stepping out of your comfort zone by designing your own version of this blue bathroom in your home.

About the Bathroom

“Story time! This client wanted color & unexpected style for this bathroom. Shying away from the typical, we chose a vintage dresser from a local flea market, had it custom painted, added new hardware, hand chose the marble and the contractor converted it into this! üôåüèº.” – BillieBloomHome

Summer is just around the corner, that means it’s time to break out summer home accessories. Time to add some color and break out the pool floats. Bring pops of color into your home decor this season. Even if you are nowhere near the beach, decorate your home to feel as though you are in a tropical beach house.

Not sure what accessories to shop? Start with little details that will make a big difference. Brighten up the room with some white accents, whether it’s a lamp or a rug. Add fun colors and patterns with throw blankets and pillows. Don’t stop with just summer accessories inside, take the decor outside to your backyard for the ultimate summer feel. Decorate the pool with bright and colorful floats. Hosting a barbecue? Add colorful glassware for the guests to enjoy their summer drinks. The chirpyest team has curated some of our favorite home decor for this summer from Nordstrom and Target. Shop them below to add to your home.

The heart of the home is the kitchen. And when renovating a home, the kitchen is one of the most valuable investments. Design Manifest had a mission to transform an outdated space into an elegant kitchen. They went for a midcentury design with a minimal color story. One of the things we love the most about their work is their attention to detail. They created a bright space by using tumbled limestone tiles on the wall and millwork treatment on the ceiling to add dimension.

To take the kitchen to the next level, they chose green cabinetry for their center island to add some color to the room. It’s a beautiful contrast from their maple cabinets around the perimeter of the kitchen. The Design Manifest team selected solid unlacquered brass hardware to create a more luxurious finish. Get inspired with their elegant kitchen design.

Step inside the home of celebrities. This stunning Beverly Hills home was owned by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. The 8,250-square-foot mansion features a media room and gourmet kitchen. The backyard has large outdoor space for entertaining guests. Also, take a dive into their heated saltwater pool. This home is full of natural light. The living room connects to the expansive deck to enjoy the California weather. It’s the perfect home for a growing family or someone who loves to entertain.

This structure was built in the mid-60s. Before John Legend and Chrissy Teigen owned this modern home, Rihanna owned it in 2016. She purchased the home for $14 million. John and Chrissy listed this property in 2020 for $23.95 million. Thanks to the help of LA designer, Don Stewart. The couple was able to transform their home into a warmer and more functional space. They made a nice profit too.

Is Green the New Gray?

Interior designers have started to use different shades and hues of green in their designs. Green is becoming the new gray when it comes to renovating a home. Bright green can be uplifting and charming. While olive green creates a warm and masculine energy in a space. There is a shade for every mood and every vibe you are trying to express within your home. I think it’s time to change from Fifty Shades of Grey to Fifty Shades of Green.

Green is a color that can be used in modern, contemporary, and coastal style homes. It adds character and style. And done well it can transform a room from tacky and gauche to rich and vibrant. Try playing around with different hues of green to compliment your own style. Experiment with natural woods and textures to contrast from a solid green wall. Get on trend with green becoming the new gray in interior design.
